Our Mission
At HablaConConfianza, our mission is to empower Spanish speakers as they transition into life in the United States and to champion the value of multiculturalism and multilingualism nationwide. We believe that language is more than a tool for communication—it is a bridge to understanding, connection, and opportunity. Inspired by the rich diversity of our communities and the transformative power of language learning, we strive to ensure that no one is held back by language barriers, whether seeking help, reporting a crime, or accessing vital information. By fostering environments where both English and Spanish are valued, we aim to build a more inclusive, supportive, and connected society for all.
Support Our Mission

Our donation system is designed for simplicity, transparency, and real impact. Using secure Stripe payment links, supporters can contribute in just a few clicks.
The cause at the heart of our work is breaking down language barriers and empowering individuals, small businesses, and community organizations through accessible English and Spanish classes. Donations go directly toward sponsoring students, businesses, or institutions who cannot afford lessons; providing learning materials, and supporting outreach to underserved groups. We are committed to transparency: every dollar is tracked, and we publish clear documentation and annual reports that show exactly how contributions are used and the difference they make in our community. Donors can always request additional information or documentation about how their gift is making an impact.

Connecting with Spanish-Speaking Customers: Why It Pays Off

Investing in Spanish language training for your employees is a strategic move that directly benefits both your business and your customers. Spanish-speaking consumers represent a demographic with rapidly rising purchasing power in the U.S., and effective communication is key to meeting their needs and earning their loyalty. When your staff can engage Spanish-speaking clients in their preferred language, you reduce friction points, improve customer service, and create a welcoming environment that sets your business apart from competitors.
Beyond customer satisfaction, Spanish language training boosts employee morale and retention. Employees feel valued when their employer invests in their professional development, especially in a skill as practical as language learning. Bilingual teams collaborate more effectively, reduce costly miscommunications, and foster a stronger sense of belonging and engagement in the workplace. Ultimately, offering Spanish courses is not just a perk—it's a powerful tool for driving growth, expanding your market reach, and building a more inclusive and productive business culture
Why Should Institutions Like Police Stations, Fire Departments, or Political Offices Invest in Spanish Courses for Employees in High Spanish-Speaking Districts?
For public service institutions, the ability to communicate effectively with all community members is not just beneficial—it's essential. In districts with high Spanish-speaking populations, language barriers can hinder everything from emergency response to public trust and civic participation. Providing Spanish language training to your staff ensures that critical information is understood, help is accessible, and every resident feels seen and heard.
When police officers, firefighters, or public officials can speak Spanish, they build trust and rapport with the community, leading to better cooperation, more accurate reporting, and safer outcomes for everyone. Bilingual public servants are better equipped to de-escalate situations, gather vital information, and serve as bridges between cultures. This investment also demonstrates a genuine commitment to equity and inclusion, strengthening your institution’s reputation and effectiveness in serving a diverse population.
In short, Spanish language training empowers your team to fulfill their mission more effectively, ensures no resident is left behind due to language, and upholds the values of public service in a multicultural society.

About Me
My name is Josh Hamann, and I am the founder of HablaConConfianza. I graduated from Oakland University with degrees in History and Spanish, along with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. My passion for languages goes beyond grammar and vocabulary—it’s rooted in a deep desire to connect with people from all backgrounds and to help build bridges between cultures.
For the last two years, I've been teaching English to students of all levels, helping them improve their skills and gain confidence. One particularly rewarding experience was helping a former student, who later became a friend, prepare for her citizenship test. I was thrilled to see her achieve her dream of becoming a U.S. citizen, and it reinforced my belief in the power of language education.
Learning Spanish was a transformative experience for me. What began as an academic pursuit quickly became a journey of personal growth and understanding. I discovered that language is a powerful tool for empathy and connection, opening doors to new perspectives and lifelong friendships. As Nelson Mandela said, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.” This idea inspires everything I do.

A former professor of mine, Hernán García, once commented, “You walk down the streets of Chicago and you try telling me that Spanish is a foreign language.” His words perfectly capture the reality of Spanish as a vital and living language in many U.S. communities, and they continue to motivate me to promote bilingualism and cultural understanding.
Through HablaConConfianza, my mission is to help Spanish speakers transition smoothly into life in the United States and to promote the value of multiculturalism and multilingualism in our country. I believe that everyone should have access to the tools they need to communicate, seek help, and fully participate in their community—regardless of the language they speak at home.
I am committed to supporting both English and Spanish language learners, and to encouraging institutions and individuals alike to embrace the rich diversity that makes our communities strong. By changing how we communicate and understand each other, I believe we can create a more inclusive and supportive society for all.
